Scanlon’s Cleaners, Inc. (“Scanlon’s,” “we,” “us”) has cleaned clothes in the Hudson Valley since 1956. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, our app, our stores, or our pick-up and delivery service, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Contact and account details: name, email, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.
- Order details: what you send us, your order history, cleaning preferences, and notes about stains or care.
- Driver instructions: where to leave your order, and any gate code, garage code or lockbox combination you give us.
- Payment details: handled by our payment providers. We don’t store full card numbers.
- Messages: anything you send through our contact form, by email, by phone or by text.
- Device and usage data: device type, IP address, app activity, pages visited, and general location.
How we use it
- Clean your items and run your pick-ups and deliveries
- Process payments and keep your account current
- Text, email or call you about your orders
- Send offers, only if you’ve agreed to receive them
- Improve our service, website and app
- Keep accounts secure and prevent fraud
- Meet our legal and tax obligations
Driver instructions and access codes
Codes and combinations you give us are used only to collect and return your orders. Only our drivers and the office staff who plan routes can see them. You can change or remove them in your account at any time.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number, we text you about your account and orders, such as pick-up and delivery updates and payment problems. Route reminders are sent if you opt in to them. We send promotional texts only if you opt in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help.
We never share your mobile number or your text-message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all the sharing described in this policy.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who run parts of our business for us: our point-of-sale and booking system, payment processors, text and email services, and website and app hosting. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
- To complete your order. If you use our drop-off counter inside Melange in Phoenicia, Melange staff see your name and order. On a fire or flood restoration claim, we share details with your insurance adjuster and contractor when you ask us to.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our customers, staff or business.
- If Scanlon’s is sold or merged, customer records would pass to the new owner, still covered by this policy.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar tools to work properly, remember your preferences, see how visitors use the site, and measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work without them. Our site doesn’t currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. After that, we keep it only as long as we need it for tax, accounting and legal records.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No system is 100% secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as New York law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. Email office@scanlons.com or call 845-338-6146, and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as payment history, where the law requires it.
Children
Our services aren’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Other websites
Our site links to others, such as Google Maps, PayPal and our social media pages. Their privacy policies apply there, not this one.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here and change the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also email account holders.
